Carrots are a great juice to use on a self-love internal healing journey

Carrots are one of the best dietary sources of beta-carotene, which boosts the immune system naturally! It is also known to reduce many risks of getting certain cancers such as breast, rectal, larynx, and lung cancer.

Carrots also contain lutein, another anti-cancer carotenoid. Research suggests this is the synergy of all the compounds in carrots that makes them such an important deterrent in the development of cancer.

What should I look for in medicinal carrots?

Look for carrots that are reddish-orange. The deeper the color, the higher the beta-carotene content. Carrots should be medium to slender in size since larger carrots tend to be more fibrous. Avoid buying rootless carrots, it’s a sign they are immature.

A pale green rim on the top portion of the carrot is a sign the carrot is beginning to age. Avoid carrots with a dark-green or black rims at the top. Carrots store well. They will keep for you in their original packaging for up to 4 weeks. Loose carrots should be stored unwashed in a closed plastic bag until ready to eat.
