I understand what they did with disguising the drug, which is why so many are unknowingly addicted. I am not talking about only adults, sugar addiction is the main cause of obesity & ADHD in children today.

You will begin to crave it throughout the day. You may hide while eating so others do not see you or will not ask for some. Your tolerance will kick in and you will require larger doses to get the rush you want. If you do not get any sugar you will begin to experience withdrawals such as nausea, headaches, cold & flu symptoms, pain, etc.

They say a couple of pieces of candy will not hurt. I know eating sugar is bad for me but I had no idea to what extent until I started to research for myself. I am one who is very interested in the human body and how it works in harmony when left undisturbed. A study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that drinking a 20-ounce, sugar-sweetened soda daily was associated with the equivalent of 4.6 years of cell aging, the same as smoking cigarettes—and this cell aging has previously been linked with a shorter human lifespan.
Tell me why I would want to continue consuming food that is killing me and my family. If you see an overweight person lose weight you will notice they not only look smaller but appear younger than when they started their weight loss journey. As a parent, I know it starts with me being a leader and them following behind me.
Be the change you want to see in your family’s health
I have to be a role model so if they see me scarfing down a bunch of candy bars and washing them down with pop all the time there is going to be some confusion. I have to eat healthily and exercise so that they will do the same. I love my kids and I want them to have their best chance from birth and beyond.
I speak on behalf of parents all around the world
I used to think it was so cute how if you allow a baby to lick a lollipop they would start dancing and grabbing for the lollipop. Well, what you are really doing is torturing them! You just let them lick a sugary lollipop, the sugar has now caused their tiny brain to become dysfunctional.
All they can think about is getting their hands on that lollipop. Some may start to cry because the sugar activates their hunger hormone making them feel like they are now starving. The dopamine in the brain took over for a minute, and then it was gone again. The child is now craving that same feeling all over again.
Do not just read but understand what is taking place in your child’s body
The process is seriously disturbing when you sit back and think about it. The child’s body closes the sugar processing door because it is full so now you have sugar hanging out in the bloodstream wreaking havoc.
Our poor children are obese, have ADHD, low energy, asthma, rashes, etc. all because we want them to enjoy the simple pleasures of life…NOT! How about taking it back to the beginning, fruits and veggies are the way to go. Who says veggies are nasty? Have you tried them roasted, grilled, in a stir fry, etc?
Brain Retraining
There are so many ways to prepare vegetables if you are not eating them it is because it is a learned behavior 7 times out of 10. Sugar causes food allergies in kids as well. Parents we need to start rethinking how we decide to feed our children because we may just be shortening their lives in the very beginning unknowingly.
Let me take you on a little journey…
Let’s discuss how the body processes the sugar we consume. Eating sugar creates a surge of feel-good brain chemicals called dopamine and serotonin. Guess what else will help you to allow the feel-good chemicals to come out and play for an extended time, cocaine.
Just like a drug, your body craves more after the initial high. “You then become addicted to that feeling, so every time you eat it you want to eat more and more. Your body then pulls your hunger hormone out of bed to play so now you are hungry although you just ate.
Processed sugar is a misunderstood drug
There is a huge difference between the way sugar acts in the body before and after it is turned into a preservative to keep food on the shelves longer, as well as delight your taste buds.
As soon as you eat sugar a normal body starts to produce insulin which comes from the pancreas. The job of insulin is to absorb all the extra sugar in order to stabilize your blood sugar at all times. If your body is not producing insulin that is a whole other problem you will struggle with.
Once the insulin absorbs all the excess sugar it won’t be using you’ll feel what is called a sugar rush. Your blood sugar then drops leaving you feeling drained and depleted.
Your body will let you slide over and over again until one day it will just stop producing insulin. I mean if your child kept wetting in the bed after drinking pop at night you will clean the mattress a good couple of times until you get tired and just stop.
Food companies hire food scientists to create an addiction in the brain keeping you coming back for more and more. They get rich & you get sick!
Body Abuse
Say you have a child who continuously drinks late at night and wets the bed consistently night after night. You think to yourself maybe my child needs to know what it feels like to sleep in a pee mattress every night, then maybe he/she will take the issue more seriously. The same concept your body says “enough” maybe if I allow him/her to suffer from sugar in their bloodstream for a while they will get the point and do better.
If you know you should not be consuming the amount of sugar you are imagine what is happening on the inside of your body. Your body is shutting down, it is suffering in the form of symptoms.
Doctors should be more concerned about eating habits
I am no doctor. I am a Natural Health Consultant ex-nurse but one thing is for sure I question what they do sometimes.
Doctors are humans just like you and I so they make mistakes. I give my patients a new patient questionnaire form and it asks everything except how their eating habits are.
Many patients just need to lose weight, not a prescription.
Symptoms are the language your body uses to get its point across to you. If you have a headache your body is saying it is thirsty. If your stomach hurts your body is telling you it had to produce too much acid to break down the food you just ate, not good!
Been diagnosed with gout? Sounds like too much of a good time over the weekend or way too much seafood. Learn to listen to the language your body speaks then you can give it what it needs to perform at its best.
Your talking but are they listening?
If you tell your doctor I went on a cruise and I ate at the buffet for six hours, then had 12 shots at the bar, after that did a workout but you are not sure why your back is hurting, you have numbness down the leg, you are having to burn with urination and your abdomen hurts.
Yes, those symptoms can happen from the situation described so maybe if the doctor knew all this he could say sleep it off and see me in a week.
Instead, you walk out of the doctor’s office with an acid pump inhibitor, a narcotic, numbing medication for the painful urination, and Neurontin for the possible nerve damage. You then follow up in a week to get more meds due to the side effects of the first set of meds, it is a vicious cycle!!
Are you complaining of belly pain or intestinal pain?
Many people when they say their tummy hurts it’s the colon they are touching. The stomach is a muscular organ located on the left side of the upper abdomen.
Let us talk about nutrients for a minute or two. This includes proteins, fats, carbs (including fiber), vitamins, and minerals. Your body doesn’t just need energy, it is also constantly using, recycling, and rebuilding hormones and cells, so it needs the correct building materials to do so.
Once you eat and digest your food, your body absorbs as many nutrients into your bloodstream as it can or needs. Some of it is converted to glucose (sugar) and used for energy, while the other digested nutrients are sent through your bloodstream to various parts of your body where they are needed and used. Insulin is one of the hormones that regulate glucose in your blood.
Constantly overwhelming your system with glucose alters this regulation system, eventually leading to diabetes in some. Excess calories in your bloodstream that can’t be used or excreted are converted to fat and stored in fat cells. Everything else that is not absorbed into your bloodstream is excreted.
Protein
Many people are aware that muscle is built from protein. What many don’t realize is that there are probably tens of thousands of different types of proteins in your body, and a large proportion of your body not just muscle is made of proteins, including cell parts for all kinds of cells.
Safe protein comes from plants
You don’t have to eat meat when you do it is regurgitated protein. You see animals eat fruits, veggies, & grains that contain amino acids and from those foods, the body can create its own body proteins. Protein is a micronutrient so eating a steak is an overdose of protein. This results in obesity, mental health, and disease.
Fats
To oversimplify, fats serve a somewhat similar purpose to protein. Cell parts comprise various forms of fat, and various types of fats are used in many biochemical signaling processes in your body. Most of the fats you eat are not the same as the fat stored in your body. The fats you eat are also not stored directly. They’re digested and used for energy and to rebuild cell parts.
Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates get a bad rap these days, but it’s important to understand that there are good carbs and carbs we don’t need but tend to eat way too much of. Carbs are converted to energy (glucose) more quickly and easily than protein and fat. Simple carbs convert the fastest (sugar is a simple carb), while complex carbs require more digestion because they are larger molecules.
Fiber
A lack of fiber is bad for us and here are a few reasons why:
- This indicates that we’re not getting enough fruits and veggies.
- Fiber is used to grab and absorb toxins from your body and get them out of there by excretion so obviously, you want to make sure you eat enough of it.
- Fiber helps regulate and slow glucose absorption so that your bloodstream isn’t overwhelmed with too much of it all at once. Fruits and veggies consist primarily of carbs, including fiber. They give us energy, while the fiber regulates this energy (glucose). They are also highly nutritious because they are high in nutrients such as essential vitamins. Usually, when fruits and veggies are very colorful it indicates a high nutrient density.
Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamins and minerals are required for numerous signaling functions and cell parts in your body, similar to proteins (except that vitamins and minerals are usually small molecules, while proteins are large – aka macromolecules). Many weird things can happen when we become deficient in certain vitamins and minerals. It’s very complicated, even experts don’t fully understand it.

Sugar supplies glucose, sucrose, & fructose alone, and NOTHING ELSE. Sugar is a simple carb that goes straight to your bloodstream. If you eat too much of it, your system can become overwhelmed, and if you do it too often you can mess up your insulin sensitivity. This means you will end up with diabetes, and the excess will be stored as fat. This is how to body was created to work.
In the end, we have choices & options so choose wisely & pick cautiously.
